Nova thrift store gets a leg up
Boutique to aid Nova Hudson
There will be a new thrift store in Hudson as of next Friday, but it’s offerings may have some thinking they’re shopping in a fine boutique.
La Boutique Nova will open on May 15 and, according to the volunteers staffing and running the store, there will be more than a few treasures available to shoppers.
Janet Ellerbeck has worked closely with three other people to get the store ready for its big debut next week. She says she’s had a host of quality donations come in to help stock the store.
Such items include brand new clothing and jeans, real jewellery and men’s suits that retailed when new for more than $1,000. The suits will sell at the store for close to $50. Another find is a pair of brand new ladies shoes which cost $350 retail, but will sell for $25 at La Boutique Nova.
Ellerbeck says shoppers may find Yves St. Laurent items, Boss suits and much more.
All are priced fairly, she added, explaining that the store will not offer garage sale pricing.
Long time Hudson merchant Michael Legg instructed close to 15 volunteer store clerks on the art of selling Thursday.
Legg stressed the need to offer good customer service, among other tips.
La Boutique Nova will host a wine and cheese reception on Thursday, May 14, from 5-7 p.m., and it will open to the public the next day, May 15 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., at 455 Main Rd, Hudson.
