Remembrance Day tributes this weekend
Though Remembrance Day takes place next Tuesday, many towns and groups will hold ceremonies and events this weekend.

In Hudson, the Royal Canadian Legion branch 115 will host a parade tomorrow, Nov. 9 which starts in the IGA parking lot and ends up at the Legion Hall, located at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, where dedications will be made to fallen soldiers.

Also on Sunday at 10:15 a.m., the Royal Canadian Legion, Churchill branch 91 in Ste. Anne de Bellevue will host a Remembrance parade and service at the Ste. Anne’s hospital for veterans.

In addition, a Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Kelso Park will be held on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, The Village Theatre in Hudson will honour veterans next week with a two-for-the-price-of-one ticket deal for an award winning theatrical presentation.

The offer is for the Nov. 13, 8 p.m. presentation of And Stockings for the Ladies.

The play, by Attila Clemann, is based on the real post-WW II experiences of his step-grandfather, a Canadian airman who was given the task of guarding a refugee camp primarily for women and children rescued from concentration camps. Veterans who attend the show are invited to a reception at the end of the evening to meet actor Brendan McMurtry-Howlett. The two-for-one tickets are available by phone only by calling the Village Theatre box office at 450-458-5361.
