Studio Tour brings public into artists’ world
Ever wondered how artists create their masterpieces? Well, ponder no more. As many as 16 regional artists will open their studios to the public today and tomorrow during the annual Hudson & Region Studio Tour.

This year’s event is dedicated to John Marok, a tour founding member.

Much like a meandering road rally, participants follow tour maps to art studios located in Hudson, St. Lazare, Rigaud and Les Cèdres.

Featured works include: stained glass, ceramics and pottery, paintings of many styles and hues, hand-carved, wooden telescopes, painted furniture, sculptures, hand-made cabinets, photography and more.

This year’s artists are : Alexandro Senn, André Floyd, Daniel Gautier, Gail Descoeurs, Heather Niderost, Linda Deni, Normand Fullum, Monique Verdier, Kate Strickland, Denise Paquette, Shernya Vininsky, Valerie Kimpton, Suzanne Reid, Jean-François Beaulieu and Solange Villeneuve.

In addition to watching the artists work, patrons also have the opportunity to purchase art.

The Hudson & Region 2008 Studio Tour will take place Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27 & 28, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It’s free to the public. For information or to print maps go to www.studiotourhudsonandregion.org.
