St. Lazare is hoping its residents will take a break from their summer holidays to participate in an upcoming blood donor clinic next Friday.
The blood drive will be held at Camping Lac des Cèdres, 1717, rue des Cèdres, on Friday July 25, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Organizers, who remind people that there is no artificial substitute for blood, say they would like a minimum of 35 donors to participate. The last St. Lazare blood clinic saw 178 donors participate.
Those eligible to donate include people from 18 to 60 years of age who are in good health. First-time donors over 60 and those more than 66 years old must have a doctor’s note clearing them to donate blood.
Other restrictions apply including those for people with allergies, who have recently visited the dentist, had a tattoo or body piercing, for example.
