Though spring is in the air vendors from the Ste. Anne Public Market know Mother Nature may still have a few tricks up her sleeve.

But the group - which operates a popular outdoor market each summer weekend along the Ste. Anne de Bellevue boardwalk - says weather is not a factor anymore since they have moved to indoor winter facilities.

For the second year, as many as six to eight artisans offer goods each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. including ethnic foods, cheeses, meats, baked products, honey, and more.

Product selection is based on items that are produced by the artisans, while summer foods also include locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Market supervisor Lisa Ann Briand says business has been brisk during most of the indoor season.

“Last year we ran only every second Saturday, and this year we decided to do every week and we’ve been pretty busy,” she said.

The indoor market will be held at 23 Perreault, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, until May 10, after which it will open at its summer headquarters along the Ste Anne de Bellevue canal boardwalk, facing City Hall.
