Vaudreuil-Soulanges’ CSSS public meeting
Vaudreuil-Dorion – The CSSS de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Vaudreuil-Soulanges) held its annual public meeting on Tuesday, November 27 to report on the accomplishments of the past year and priority plans for the next three to four years. @R:Speeches were given by Yvan Cardinal, president administration board; Diane Boileau Seperich, director-general, and Diane Lyonnais, director of services. “The meeting was well attended. There were more people than last year. It has been a huge task to merge all the groups in the area. Major undertakings have been successfully achieved. The problem of the shortage of doctors keeps coming up. With an allocation to hire four doctors, interviews with candidates are being held in December. We don’t know if they will accept, but none of the doctors will go to Hudson,” said Frank Royle, a Hudson resident and member of the CSSS-VS board. ”A large part of our success in the last year was achieved thanks to the services of our staff and administration, especially with the exceptional collaboration of all the partners in our territory and to the network of health and social services”, said Ms. Seperich. @ST:Construction Project 2009 @R:“At the moment, we are completing work on three alterations at the CLSC in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Our objective is to put all the services under the same roof and, we have formed a committee to work on this important project. During the winter of 2007, the government confirmed funding for the construction, in 2009, of a new building for the CLSC and for major work in Rigaud at our long term care centre for persons who are no longer able to remain in their own homes,” stated Mr. Cardinal. The CSSS of Vaudreuil-Soulanges was formed in 2004 with the fusion of the CLSC La Presqu’île and the Regroupement des CHSLD des Trois-Rives. It serves 23 municipalities, and a population of 122,000 people. More than 750 people are employed by the CSSS of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The services are available at nine locations and include four long term care facilities. The annual operating budget is more than $44 million dollars.
