Where to drive during Galipeault Bridge work?
Drivers may need an extra dose of patience and a good GPS system to navigate the Galipeault Bridge this summer.
Where to drive during Galipeault Bridge work?
Work will begin on the circa 1920 Galipeault Bridge on May 23.

The $51.4 million project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2009.

According to Transport Quebec, motorists going in both directions will need to share the bridge’s westbound span.

To ease traffic flow lane usage will be divided depending on the heaviest traffic patterns. During morning rush hour eastbound cars will be able to use two of the three lanes, while westbound vehicles will use two lanes coming home in the afternoon.

westbound drivers heading for Île Perrot will have to use Perrot Blvd instead of Grand Blvd to access the town during much of the work, while eastbound drivers will be able to use Grand Blvd between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in order to get to Hwy. 20 in the morning.

Transport Quebec is encouraging people to consider alternate transportation by adding an additional 450 parking spaces to train stations in Île Perrot, Vaudreuil and Pincourt.
