A Mission for Junk Mail
At last – junk mail can have a higher calling than filler for your blue box! Starting next Monday January 28th, you can learn how to unleash your creativity and make handcrafted paper while doing your bit for the environment. The high price of paper today gives you another reason to make your own pulp. Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue artist Claude Aimée Villeneuve, who has been crafting paper for 8 years, said that brown paper bags and used photocopier paper can also be transformed into pulp. “It’s a lot of fun,” she said. “We can also use plants and flowers and we can add things like metallic pieces and tea leaves to give texture and design to the finished product.”
Villeneuve is giving a course comprising of three 3-hour workshops that start next Monday February 28 at St-George’s Anglican Church located at 23 Perreault Street in Ste Anne-de-Bellevue. For information call: Claude Aimée Villeneuve at 514 457-0323.
