Hudson’s Twelve Days of Christmas
Hudson - Hudson is now ablaze with sparkling Christmas lights and decorations as everyone officially turned on their lights during the “Festival of Lights” ceremony held last Friday.
Organized by the Hudson parks and recreation department, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” features the blessing of the animals today, Saturday, December 1st, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stephen F. Shaar community centre. The Santa Claus parade takes place tomorrow, Sunday, December 2, starting at 1 p.m. on Main Road. Other activities at the Stephen F. Shaar Centre include: breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 8, from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Christmas story time on Sunday, December 9, at 6.30 p.m., generational Christmas tea and carolling on Wednesday, December 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The pre-teen Christmas dance is on December 14 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., the teen Christmas party is on December 15, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Hudson Film Society is presenting an evening with Grant Munro, Pioneer National Film Board Director on Monday, December 3 at the Hudson Village Theatre. Mr. Munro was awarded an honorary doctorate at Concordia University this summer. He stars in “Neighbours”, which was directed by Norman McLaren, who had lived in Hudson. It won the 1952 Academy award for short film with its story of two home-owners battling over their property line. The Hudson Village Theatre is presenting the The People’s Gospel Choir of Montreal in a Christmas concert on Sunday, December 9 at 8 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Hudson “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is the 7th annual traditional Christmas Pantomime to be presented at the Hudson Village Theatre from December 14 to January 6. This beloved tradition and community project delights adults and kids alike. Audience participation is mandatory says the theatre.
