Safety first! Have a scary treat!

Saint-Lazare - Again this year, Saint-Lazare’s firefighters will be patrolling the streets of Saint-Lazare on Halloween night on Wednesday, October 31 to ensure the children’s safety while trick-or-treating.

Parents and children will be able to easily identify firefighters who will be driving around with their emergency vehicles or Town vehicles equipped with green revolving lights. No one should hesitate to call upon their services at any time. Patrols will be running from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Firefighters will also distribute hundreds of fluorescent necklaces to kids who are running for the event, thanks to Saint-Lazare Business Association’s generosity.

10 safety tips @R:The 10 Halloween safety tips for kids are : be accompanied by an adult; trick or treat in one well-known area; watch for moving vehicles when crossing streets; wear warm clothing easily seen at night; carry a flashlight; avoid wearing masks that reduce your vision (wear make-up instead); oversize caps and pants that make you fall and hurt yourself. Parents should accompany their children, inspect all candy and report any signs of candy tampering to police. Have a scary treat!
