Hudson, Pincourt & V-D establish rush hour bus services
Vaudreuil-Dorion pilot project now offers free daytime bus rides
Vaudreuil-Dorion – Residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion can now take free bus rides on weekdays, Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes from 8:24 a.m. to 16:05 p.m.
The new bus will make a circular run on Circuit 15, from rang St-Antoine/route 342 to route Harwood/Valois. It will make stops on Chicoine, St-Jean Baptiste/Harwood, St. Charles/Campus Cité-des-Jeunes, Dutrisac, de la Gare. The pilot service is offered from September 4 to December 31, 2007. It will bring employees and shoppers to Wal-Mart and other big-box stores. Residents must show a photo-identification card to qualify for a free ride. The cards can be obtained at the Vaudreuil-Dorion Library or at the community center, at 21 Louise-Josephte. “At the moment, Circuit 15 is essentially a full service pilot project, which we hope will become a regular service in 2008. We are pleased with the growing number of passengers taking our commuter buses to the train stations in Hudson, Pincourt and Vaudreuil-Dorion. Our first Hudson morning bus has been jam-packed with students going to John Abbott College in Ste. Anne de Bellevue. People have complained about the delays on the new Pincourt shuttle bus service, which started on September 4. With construction on Highway 20 and an accident on the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge, the Pincourt buses were held up. We hope to improve and have a better service to get everyone to their destinations on time. As people see our daytime buses in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and hear about our new pilot project, we hope to increase the number of people taking Circuit 15,” said René Mailly, director of CIT La Presqu’île.
